your room phone or dialling 01629 812812 from a mobile,                                   and selecting option ‘0’ to place your order for hot and cold meals.

Lunch is available 12-3pm and dinner 5-8pm. Snacks and
bar drinks are available from 12.00pm to 11.00pm.

After finishing your meal, please call Reception and
your tray will be collected from outside your room.

Please note an additional tray charge of £5 per order will apply
on top of the price of the food ordered.

Access

The Hotel doors will be locked from 11pm daily. To access the building after this time you will need to enter a code on the front door. Please speak to the team for the current code. If you require disabled access to the building, please let our team know before arrival and we will arrange the ramp to be installed at our site entrance.

 

Accounts

Your account is readily available upon request at Reception. The following methods of payment are accepted: personal cheque (with guarantee card), Visa, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept contactless payment (up to £100) and ApplePay. Please note that we are a cashless property.

 

Alarm Calls

Please contact Reception by dialling ‘0’ who will arrange a wake up for you.

 

Assistance (24-hr reception)

Reception is staffed 24 hours. From 11pm to 7am the Night Porter will cover reception to deal with any enquiries. Should you require assistance please dial ‘0’.

 

Attraction Tickets

The hotel offers discounts for entry to both Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. For Chatsworth, a discounted House & Garden ticket is available to purchase from Reception, for opening months (excluding Christmas). For Haddon Hall, a discount voucher is available for you to collect from Reception to hand in at Haddon Hall on paying for your ticket, for opening months (excluding Christmas}.

 

Bars

The Coffee House, located on the ground floor at the front of the main hotel building, provides the widest variety of beverages. The Bar is located towards the middle of the main hotel building and has a wide range of speciality drinks including cocktails, whisky and gin.

 

Bicycle Storage

We are able to store a limited number of bicycles in our Garage, located in our Car Park area. Please speak to Reception to gain access.

 

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the Eatery which is located on the ground floor close to the Bar, or in the Coffee House should you wish to bring along your dog. Please wait to be seated at the host stand by The Eatery. We serve from 7.00am to 10.00am, Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 10.00am on Saturday and Sunday. As our Breakfast hot serving is made to order from the kitchen, advanced timed bookings are required, along with 2 or more seating times for groups of 9+ guests. We offer gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast; please make your server aware should you require any alternatives to what is available on your table or on the Continental Buffet. We politely request that you arrive on time to avoid service delays. Should you wish to order room service, please contact Reception with your order by 10.00pm the evening prior (tray charges apply, please see Room Service section).

 

Car Parking

Our car park is situated within the Courtyard, located opposite the main hotel building, and can be found by using the postcode DE45 1BZ. We have a limited amount of parking for use by overnight residents only. We have one blue-badge parking space which is foremost reserved for a blue-badge holder staying in our Access Room. You can obtain a parking permit from Reception to display in your car window. There is a letter box on the right-hand side of the car park as you exit to return your parking permit. Please be aware that parking fines are in operation. Should our hotel car park be full, Bakewell has several Pay & Display Car Parks.

Derbyshire Dales District Council car parks; Granby Road, Market Place and New Street, all offer overnight parking. You are able to pay via the PayByPhone App or by cash at the on-site machines. Bakewell Bridge Car Park offers overnight parking to our hotel guests. Should you wish to park here, if there is an attendant on at the time, please let them know that you are staying with us and will be parking overnight. ANPR system in place and that they accept both cash and card. Otherwise, if it is unattended, then just pay on exit or complete payment at https://bakewellbridge.square.site/ on the day of arrival.  If you have paid online, you will be able to come and go from the car park if travelling out during your stay. This ticket covers you from the time you arrive at the car park until 23:59 on the day you leave. Please note that this is an arrangement we have with this particular car park, and you will notice the car park has a general sign that states no overnight parking.

You do not need to display anything in your car to identify that you are staying at the hotel.

 

Checkout

Checkout time is 11.00am. A late checkout is available at an additional cost, and has limited availability. Please speak to reception about having this arranged.

 

Church Services

Please contact Reception who will advise you on services and locations for religious worship.

 

Cinema

Our nearest multiplex cinema is Cineworld Chesterfield, around 13 miles from the hotel. The postcode is S40 2ED and has parking on-site. There is is also the Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre, around 12 miles from the hotel.

 

Conference Facilities

Please enquire with our reception team for details of our conferencing facilities. We can provide further information upon request and we would be delighted to make an appointment with our management team on your behalf..

 

Currency Conversion

The nearest bureau de change is at Natwest which is located a short walk along Rutland Square directly ahead of the main hotel building entrance.

If you require directions our Reception team are happy to provide printed route maps and navigation on request; a Tourist Information Brochure is available from Reception. Bakewell Visitor Centre is located on Bridge Street, a short walk from the hotel, and can be contacted on 01629 816558.

 

Disabled Facilities

The hotel has one, purpose-designed, room for disabled guests, located in the Courtyard building. Please ask our reception team if you would like to view the room (subject to availability). Our disabled toilet is located in the main hotel building close to the Eatery.

 

Doctor, Dentist and Chemist

Should you require medical assistance, please inform Reception or call the local Doctors’ Surgery Helpline on 01629 816636, or dial 111 for the NHS Helpline. The nearest urgent treatment centre is at Whitworth Hospital just 7 miles away. The nearest chemists, 01629 813215 / 01629 812043, can be found on the High Street. For more information please dial ‘0’ to speak to Reception. We have a local Veterinary Clinic, Bakewell Veterinary Clinic, which can be contacted for out of hours emergencies on 01629 812744. 

 

Emergency Services

Using your mobile phone, dial ‘999’ for the police, fire brigade or an ambulance. Please also call Reception on ‘0’ or dialling 01629 812812 from a mobile, and selecting option ‘0’ to report the incident and for further assistance and First Aid.

 

Fire Procedures

It is imperative that guests read the Fire Notice next to the bedroom door and familiarise themselves with the fire evacuation procedure and fire exits. Please make Reception aware on the day of arrival if they will require assistance in the case of an evacuation during their stay. We have our weekly fire alarm test takes place usually on a Tuesday.

 

Flowers

If you wish to have them delivered to your room, we would be happy to arrange this for you with our local florist. Please contact reception by dialling ‘0’ with your requirements and they will do their best to accommodate you.

 

Heating and Cooling

The heating in the room is controlled on set timers, and when on may be adjusted using the thermostat dial on the side of the radiator during the winter months. Should you wish to turn off the towel rail in the bathroom, the switch, which is labelled, is located on the outer wall from the towel rail. You will find a cooling fan located in the bedroom wardrobe for use during the summer months. Please note that the windows in our Main Hotel Building all have window restrictors which, for your safety, limit how far the window can be opened.

 

Housekeeping

During your stay our housekeeping team will service your room daily; for multi-day stays, bed linen will be changed every 3 days. If you require any extra amenities (Hot Chocolate sachets and Earl Grey Teabags are available on request) or would like fresh milk, please contact reception using the in room phone by dialling ‘0’.. If you would like your towels replacing, please place them in the bath in the morning. If you prefer not to be disturbed we provide a hanger to place over the door; if the hanger is on the door still by 2.30pm your room will not be serviced that day.

In Room Facilities

All rooms have available an Iron, Ironing Board and Hairdryer. To use the hairdryer, you will need to continuously hold the button. Your bathroom mirror surround light is controlled by a sensor switch at the bottom of the mirror; passing your hand along the underside of the mirror will turn this on/off. Please note that the second set of towels in your room, may be located in the wardrobe, rather than the bathroom. In our Courtyard Building rooms, you will find an umbrella in your wardrobe for use during your stay.

Keys

For your personal security, we insist that guests produce room keys when signing accounts in any of the Hotel’s facilities. Please ensure you sign for your account before leaving the table in any of the dining facilities. Should you wish, you can leave your key for the day at reception and collect on your return.

 

Leisure Facilities

Luggage Assistance

Please ask reception for help with luggage or luggage storage at any time, 24-hours a day. Luggage may be stored in the hotel up to six hours after vacating your room without charge. If you are travelling to us by car and are unable to park in our hotel car park, you are welcome to drop of any luggage at reception before parking elsewhere. For guests staying in our Courtyard Building, we recommend leaving your luggage in your car whilst you collect your room key from reception to save walking back and forth across the road with it.

 

Maintenance

Should you find anything not in working order, please report it to Reception and we will endeavour to repair it as quickly as possible.

 

Newspaper

Please order with Reception by 10.00pm for delivery to your room the next morning.

 

No Smoking

Please be aware that the whole hotel, including all bedrooms and outside seating areas, is non-smoking. If guests are found to have smoked inside bedrooms, a minimum charge of £120.00 will be made to cover further cleaning and freshening of the room. Each room is fitted with a smoke detector which is very sensitive and will evacuate the whole hotel if triggered. Activation will incur further charges to the guests account.

 

Pets

Dogs are allowed in our Bar, Coffee House and Lounge areas, where you can enjoy all the same menus as our restaurant. Unfortunately, for the comfort of other guests, dogs (except guidedogs) are not allowed in the Eatery. We offer a limited number of ground floor Classic Bedrooms, located in our Courtyard Building, for pet-friendly overnight accommodation.

 

Postage

Postage to most destinations can be arranged via Reception. All post is sent daily. Bakewell Post Office is located a short walk away from the hotel on Granby Road.

 

Restaurant

There are several dining areas throughout the hotel, with the same menu available in each. Our main Eatery is located towards the back of the main hotel building. Our menu is served from 12.00pm to 9.00pm, Sunday to Thursday and 12.00pm to 9.30pm on Friday & Saturday. You can view our menu here. You can also dine in our Bar between the same times or in our Coffee House 12.00pm to 5.00pm. We recommend to make a dinner reservation in advance due to the popularity of the hotel with our guests and locals alike, which you can do by either visiting https://rutlandarmsbakewell.co.uk/food-drink/book-a-table/ or contacting Reception. When dining with us, we ask you to please wait at the host stand by Reception to be seated. We have no formal dress code.

 

Security

Please ensure that your bedroom windows and doors are closed when you leave the room. We would like to draw your attention to the Hotel Proprietors Act displayed in the Reception area and regret to inform you that the hotel cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage to any guest’s property not handed in for safekeeping.

Taxi Service

Please contact Reception who will be happy to book a taxi for you. We do recommend that you pre-book a taxi, as we cannot guarantee that a taxi will be available at the time you require. Our local taxi company accepts both cash and card payments.

 

Telephone

Most bedrooms are equipped with a direct dial telephone. Room to Room calls are free, but if you would like to make an external call, please speak to reception who will try and accommodate your needs.

 

Television

All of our rooms are equipped with flat screen Freeview televisions. To turn on the TV, press the power button on the remote control.

 

Toiletries

In your room there is a range of H2K of Harrogate’s premium toiletries. These are provided for your use during your stay and if you would like to take them home, can be purchased via our reception team. We also hold a limited supply of complimentary common items are available from reception 24 hours a day, (i.e. toothpaste, shaving foam, razor, etc).

 

Voltage

The UK uses a 240v supply with three pin plugs. Please ask Reception if you require an adapter. This usually requires a £5 deposit which is refunded when the adaptor is returned.
